Yarra Valley Speedway Kart Club (YVSKC) prides itself on being a fun and family oriented club which encourages all drivers regardless of age and ability.

Speedway Karting is the world’s most affordable form of motor sport. Many people associate it with young drivers, but adults are also very active in speedway karting. Karting is considered the first step in any serious racer’s career. It can prepare the driver for high-speed wheel-to-wheel racing by developing quick reflexes, precision, car control, set-up, mechanical and decision-making skills. People of all ages can enjoy the sport with children as young as eight competing behind the wheel.

Karting teaches these children, both boys and girls, basic driving skills well before they are able to obtain their road license. Karting is competitive, but it is also fun and family orientated, with involvement in the sport both on and off the track giving it a strong feeling of community. It teaches driving skills and offers people an opportunity to gain a career in motor sport, all in a safe and organized environment. Getting into karting is relatively simple. First you need to become a member of the Yarra Valley Speedway Kart Club.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

As the season has now commenced for YVSKC and the majority of drivers have been on the track at least once this season it is now time to remind everyone that all karts must conform to the SKAA specifications. YVSKC will be conducting random engine measuring and fuel testing throughout the season to ensure all karts are legal. If you have any concerns or questions please contact Wayne Packer (Club Technical Officer) on 0417 833 4331 between 8am and 12 noon.

Nominations for our Nyora race meeting on the 18th February 2012 have closed. Any nominations not received please contact Sue however you will be ROF.

Nominations for the Vic title close soon so get them in quickly to avoid late fees.
